That round number is the problem. When three procedures share one anesthesia and one recovery, there are real efficiencies, and a good surgeon passes some of them on. But those same efficiencies make it easy to quote low by quietly dropping the hospital night, the second garment, or the drain follow-up visit. The only defense is to know what a complete quote lists.
The nine lines
Add those up at the low end and you land near $8,700. At the high end, closer to $17,000 with implants and two hospital nights at a JCI-accredited hospital. The typical 2026 range you will see from experienced surgeons is $8,000 to $15,000. Where the cheap quote loses lines
A $6,500 mommy makeover quote exists in Colombia. It is real, and someone will operate on you for it. What it almost always omits:
- Hospital nights. The surgery is done in an ambulatory clinic and you go to a recovery house the same evening with drains in. For a four-hour combined case that is a decision your anesthesiologist should make, not your budget.
- The second surgeon fee. Some quotes price the breast work as an "add-on" at a fraction of a real fee, which usually means the breast portion is done fast at the end of a long case.
- Muscle repair. A tummy tuck without diastasis repair is cheaper and faster. If you have had children, you almost certainly need the repair. The quote should say "with plication" or "con plicatura."
- Garments and drain visits. Small line, but when it is missing it is a sign the quote was built for the headline number.
The two lines that move the price most
1. Hospital vs ambulatory clinic
Colombia licenses facilities in tiers (habilitacion). A hospital OR with ICU access and overnight capacity costs the surgeon more per hour than an ambulatory clinic OR, and that cost passes to you. For a 45-minute lipo, ambulatory is fine. For a four-to-six-hour combined case, most senior surgeons insist on a hospital setting, and the quote reflects that. The price gap between the two settings for a mommy makeover is typically $1,500 to $3,000. That gap is not markup. It is the ICU down the hall.
2. How the OR block is priced
Some surgeons price a mommy makeover as one long OR block at a combined rate. Others price each procedure's OR time separately and add them. The combined rate is usually 15 to 25 percent cheaper. Ask which method the quote uses. If it is separate, ask whether a combined rate is available. This is the one negotiation that is completely reasonable to have.
