All-on-4 Quotes From Colombia: Per-Arch Math and the Provisional-vs-Final Trap

Full-arch implant quotes are the most misread documents in dental tourism. The number is per arch or per mouth, the teeth are temporary or final, and the second trip is either in the price or it is not. Here is how to read one.

Short version

All-on-4 is a full-arch restoration: four (sometimes six) implants per jaw supporting a fixed bridge of teeth. It is a two-stage procedure by design, and that is the whole reason quotes are hard to compare. What you leave Colombia with after the first trip is a provisional. What you come back for is the final. A quote that shows one number without saying which stage it covers is not a quote.

Per arch, per mouth, per stage

Line itemTypical 2026 range
Implants, 4 per archBrand matters: Straumann, Nobel Biocare, Neodent, or regional. Named on the quote.$2,000 - $3,600
Extractions and bone shapingDepends on how many teeth remain and bone condition.$400 - $1,200
Surgical placement, surgeon feeOral surgeon or periodontist, or a prosthodontist with surgical training. Check specialty in ReTHUS.$1,200 - $2,500
Sedation or general anesthesiaIV sedation is standard. General anesthesia in a hospital setting is more.$300 - $900
Provisional acrylic bridge, immediate loadThe teeth you leave with on trip one. Acrylic on a titanium or fiber bar.$800 - $1,500
CBCT scan, surgical guide, impressionsGuided surgery adds accuracy and cost.$200 - $600
Final prosthesis, second tripZirconia (most common), acrylic hybrid (cheaper), or PMMA. This is the line that goes missing.$2,500 - $5,000
Bone grafting or sinus lift, if neededNot always required. Should be quoted as contingent, not hidden.$500 - $2,000

Per arch, both stages, final zirconia: typical 2026 range $7,000 to $13,000 in Colombia. Two arches, $13,000 to $24,000. The same work as US self-pay typically runs $20,000 to $35,000 per arch. The gap is real and large, which is exactly why the quote deserves a careful read.

The provisional-vs-final trap

Immediate-load All-on-4 means you get implants and a fixed provisional bridge in the same week. The provisional is acrylic. It is meant to be worn 4 to 6 months while the implants integrate with bone. Then you return for the final bridge, typically zirconia, which is stronger, more natural, and more expensive.

The cheap quote is the provisional stage only. "$4,500 per arch All-on-4" is a real number, and it is real for implants plus temporary teeth. When you return for the final, there is a second quote, often larger than the first. Total ends up near the honest range anyway. You just found out in two payments instead of one.

Flag: a per-arch quote under $5,000 that does not say "provisional only." Ask: what am I leaving with, what is the final made of, and is the final in this price?

Four implants or six

All-on-4 is the brand name for four implants, two tilted. Some cases, particularly upper arches with soft bone, call for six (All-on-6). More implants cost more and spread load better. A quote that promises four for a difficult upper arch is either confident or optimistic. A CBCT scan settles it, and a serious clinic reads one before quoting a final number.

Brand on the quote

Implant brand is the line that quietly varies most. Straumann and Nobel Biocare are the premium Swiss and Swedish systems with the longest data. Neodent (Straumann's Brazilian brand) and regional manufacturers are legitimate and cheaper. All must be INVIMA registered for sale in Colombia. The quote should name the brand, and you should keep the implant passport with lot numbers, because a US dentist doing maintenance in ten years needs to know what parts to order.

Who does the surgery

In Colombia, full-arch implant placement is done by oral and maxillofacial surgeons, periodontists, and prosthodontists with implant training. All are specialists you can verify in ReTHUS. A general dentist placing eight implants in a day in a strip-mall clinic is where the horror stories come from. The prosthetic design is usually a prosthodontist; ask whether the same team does both stages.

The two-trip math

ItemTrip 1 (surgery + provisional)Trip 2 (final bridge)
Nights in Colombia7 - 105 - 7
Flights + lodging, typical$900 - $2,000$800 - $1,600
TimingWeek 0Month 4 - 6

Some clinics offer a single-trip protocol with a stronger PMMA provisional you keep for a year. Ask whether that is truly a final or a longer temporary. Even with two trips, a double-arch case typically lands 55 to 65 percent under a US quote all-in. The estimator covers single implants; for full-arch, use these figures directly. Route your dental questions to Colombia Dentist for clinic vetting, and to Best Dental Surgery for the country-by-country comparison. Pay through Wise to keep the peso conversion at mid-market.

Questions people ask

How much does All-on-4 cost in Colombia in 2026?

Typically $7,000 to $13,000 per arch including the final zirconia bridge, or $13,000 to $24,000 for both arches. US self-pay runs $20,000 to $35,000 per arch. Typical ranges, not quotes.

Why is one Colombian All-on-4 quote $4,500 and another $11,000?

The $4,500 quote is usually the surgery and provisional only. The final bridge is a second trip and a second price. Ask what stage the quote covers.

Do I need two trips for All-on-4 in Colombia?

Usually yes: surgery and provisional on trip one, final bridge 4 to 6 months later. Some clinics offer a single-trip protocol with a long-term provisional; ask whether it is truly final.

What implant brands are used in Colombia?

Straumann, Nobel Biocare, Neodent, and INVIMA-registered regional brands. The quote should name the brand; keep the implant passport with lot numbers.

Who should place full-arch implants?

An oral and maxillofacial surgeon, periodontist, or prosthodontist with implant training, verifiable in ReTHUS. Ask whether the same team handles the final prosthesis.

Is zirconia worth it over acrylic for the final?

Zirconia is stronger and more natural but costs $1,000 to $2,500 more per arch. Acrylic hybrid finals are legitimate and cheaper; the quote must say which.

Prices in this article are typical 2026 ranges observed across accredited Colombian clinics, not quotes. Colombia ranks #1 in the Western Hemisphere and #22 globally in the WHO World Health Report (2000); pair that with current JCI hospital accreditation and a ReTHUS check on any surgeon you consider. Nothing here is medical advice.
